August 11, 1942 dated U. S Army 1942 pattern four button wool tunic, has Regulation Army Officer's Uniform tag sewn on left inside breast pocket. Has thread outline of 1st Cavalry patch on right shoulder, thread outline of another patch on left shoulder. Engineers insignia on collar as well as US. Name tag "Hewitt" on the interior.
Some minor moth nips, otherwise in excellent shape. January 14, 1942 named and dated US Army 1942 pattern four button wool tunic.
Label with name and date is deep in the inside right breast pocket. Has Associated Military Stores Chicago label above interior right breast pocket with embroidered JMH on pocket.No visible trace of a patch on the right shoulder but has Military District of Washington patch on left shoulder. Engineers and US metal insignia on collars.
No mothing that I could find. Interior lining has a period repair. Khaki long sleeve cotton shirt with faded date machine printed tab which could be 1952.Has 11th Corps patch sewn on left sleeve with traces of a patch it may have replaced. 1st Cavalry patch on right sleeve.
US Army 1944 pattern wool Ike jacket with Clipper Craft Clothes label on inner right breast pocket. Thread outline trace of 1st Cavalry patch on right sleeve and another patch on the left sleeve.
Has single bar on lower right sleeve indicating 6 months overseas service. Outline trace of ribbon bars over left breast. US and Engineers metal insignia on collar. One dark khaki pair with handwritten Lt. One olive drab/green pair of 36 waist 33 inseam trousers with Lt. Hewitt handwritten inside fly with a few minor moth nips. Has MG Hewitt written on interior lining of pants pocket indicating he may have obtained the rank of Major General prior to the end of his career. A second pair of olive drab/green pair of 34 waist 33 inseam trousers with handwritten Lt.Hewitt on inside of fly. Two pair of sterling marked pin back general's stars.
