Vintage Gas Station Uniform Pants (2), Shirt, Tie
THE SHORT SLEEVE SHIRT HAS THE NAME "MIKE" STITCHED OVER THE RIGHT POCKET AND A TEXACO LOGO APPROX. 3" x 1 3/4" OVER THE LEFT POCKET. THE SHIRT IS LIGHT GREEN WITH DARKER GREEN STRIPES AND IS A MEDIUM.
I BELIEVE THE SHIRT MAY HAVE BEEN WORN ONCE OR TWICE BUT IS IN LIKE-NEW CONDITION. THE 2 PAIRS OF UNIFORM SLACKS ARE DARK GREEN IN COLOR WITH A 33" WAIST AND 27" INSEAM. (There is approximately 3 more material folded under at the cuff that could be used to increase the leg length - but you would have to press out the crease). THE SLACKS ARE SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT IN TEXTURE WITH ONE PAIR BEING VERY SLIGHTLY LIGHTER IN COLOR AND WEIGHT THAN THE SECOND PAIR. AS WITH THE SHIRT, THE LIGHTER PAIR OF PANTS MAY HAVE BEEN WORN ONCE OR TWICE BUT IS IN LIKE-NEW CONDITION. THE HEAVIER WEIGHT PANTS DO NOT APPEAR TO HAVE BEEN WORN. THE VINTAGE TEXACO TIE IS APPROXIMATELY 57" LONG AND 3" ACROSS THE BOTTOM. IT IS DARK BLUE WITH WHITE AND RED STRIPES, AND A TEXACO LOGO TOWARDS THE BOTTOM ON THE FRONT OF THE TIE. THE TIE WAS CREATED BY ROGER WITTAMER (BELGIUM-EUROPE) IN THE 1980'S.IT CAN BE WORN WITH THE UNIFORM BUT WAS MORE OFTEN WORN WITH A SPORTS JACKET OR SUIT. I'M NOT SURE WHETHER IT IS MADE OF SILK OR POLYESTER; IT IS SPOTLESS. THIS IS THE TYPE OF UNIFORM WHICH WOULD HAVE BEEN WORN BY A STATION MANAGER OR SUPERVISOR, RATHER THAN BY AN ATTENDANT WHO WOULD WORKED IN THE BAYS.
